If you’re hunting for free things to do with young kids in Sydney this month, especially as the pre-Christmas rush kicks in, here’s a gem worth popping straight into your diary. Ready Steady Go Kids, Australia’s largest physio-designed program for toddlers and preschoolers, is running free Friday sports sessions at Meriton’s Pagewood Precinct until 12 December.

A rare chance to try a premium program at no cost

The program is usually part of a paid term schedule, so this is a fantastic opportunity for parents to trial a structured, expert-designed class without committing upfront. The sessions are created by paediatric physiotherapists and delivered by accredited coaches, with a focus on confidence-building, coordination, balance and early social skills — all wrapped up in fun, gentle movement.

Little athletes rotate through age-appropriate activities inspired by sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis and athletics. The format is structured enough to keep things flowing, but relaxed enough that kids can explore at their own pace. Parents are more than welcome to join in, making it a lovely bonding activity for grown-ups and toddlers alike.

A seriously family-friendly setting

The Pagewood Precinct itself is a huge drawcard for families. With three modern playgrounds, pram-friendly paths, shaded seating and plenty of easy dining options, it’s the kind of spot where you can make a whole morning or afternoon of it. Grab a coffee at Leaf Café, treat the kids to pizza at Johnny Gio’s, enjoy Japanese favourites at Kokoroya, or finish with a scoop from C9 Gelato.
